Post and Beam Remodel
Post and Beam Remodel
This mid-century modern home had spectacular views of the Texas Hill Country but unfortunately, most of the interior spaces did not meet my client’s needs and the exterior needed some work. Most important for my client, the original kitchen was cut off from the living room (and views!) by a large stone wall with a fireplace. To open things up, the wall and fireplace were removed, the laundry relocated and a butler’s pantry was taken in to create the new kitchen and mail room. A new Venetian plastered fireplace/coat closet floating wall was added to separate the living room from the front entry. This same floating wall idea was used in the master bedroom to separate the sleeping space and bathing space. In addition, the master bedroom was reconfigured to include a larger walk-in closet and a separate small but efficient office..
